Organising clubs and federations

We assist with establishing and organising sports bodies, amending constitutive documents, updating constitutions and drafting internal regulations. We examine management powers, decision-making procedures, relations between members and the requirements for affiliation or competition participation.

We provide management with legal advice on day-to-day operations, including relationships with athletes, coaches, sponsors, public authorities and sports bodies.

Contracts, transfers and sponsorship

We draft, review and negotiate sports activity contracts, employment contracts, agreements with coaches and technical staff, sponsorship agreements, image rights assignments and cooperation agreements. We define the duration, remuneration, bonuses, parties' obligations, termination terms and dispute resolution procedures precisely.

In football, legal analysis may include registration and transfer documents, obligations to players and intermediaries, and compliance with applicable regulations.

Disputes, disciplinary matters and sports arbitration

We represent clubs and federations before the competent sports committees and bodies in contractual and disciplinary disputes and sports arbitration. Where jurisdiction and admissibility requirements are met, we also provide representation before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne.

We determine the strategy after reviewing the regulations, jurisdiction clause, challenged decision, evidence and procedural deadlines. In disputes over remuneration and termination, we identify the sports organisation’s obligations and its financial or sporting risks.

Football, negotiations, transfers and the FIFA licence

Which documents are useful for an initial review?

The constitution and internal regulations, affiliation documents, relevant contracts, transfer proposals, any representation agreements, correspondence, decisions received and proof of notification. For an ongoing dispute, we also need details of the body handling it, hearing dates and filing deadlines.
