Sports contracts and negotiations

We draft, review and negotiate sports activity contracts, employment contracts, sponsorship agreements and other documents affecting an athlete’s career. We clarify remuneration, incentives and bonuses, duration, image rights, obligations, registration, transfers and termination.

Unpaid remuneration and termination

We examine unpaid salaries, remuneration, incentives and bonuses, due dates and payment evidence. We prepare the notices and applications needed to recover sums due and, where the athlete wishes to terminate, separately assess the grounds, procedure and legal consequences.

Sports disputes and proceedings

We represent athletes before the competent sports committees and bodies, in sports arbitration and, where admissibility requirements are met, before the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. Before determining strategy, we review the challenged decision, jurisdiction clause, regulations, evidence and procedural deadline.

Football, contracts, transfers and the FIFA licence

George Iulian Murar is a lawyer and football agent holding an active FIFA licence. His experience combines legal advice on contracts and sports disputes with an understanding of the conditions under which player contracts and transfers are negotiated.

Depending on the agreed engagement and applicable rules, agency services may include representing a player in negotiations, contract signing and transfers. We define the represented party, scope of services and responsibilities at the outset.

Agency activities are carried out through Murar Sports Agency SRL under a separate services agreement. Legal advice and litigation representation provided by Murar și Asociații are agreed separately under a legal services agreement. The distinction is clarified before work begins.

Which documents are useful for an initial discussion?

The contract and annexes, relevant regulations, correspondence, payment records and any decision received. For a dispute or sanction, proof of notification and the challenge deadline are essential.
